Exalted Ruler’s Message

Hello to the Membership. This is my sixth newsletter and thank you for all your help!
I have complained in my newsletters about lack of Membership support, well it worked. I am so proud of this Lodge and all the Active Members. Let’s not stop.
On August 3rd, we held our annual Handicapped Picnic at our Lodge entertaining over 210 people. The day was very fulfilling. Thank you to all our great members who helped, the list of individual people is getting to long, so THANK YOU.
On August 4th, we held our annual Early Childhood picnic with 200 people attending. Thank You again to every volunteer.
On August 24th we held our Annual Car Show. As always, Pete Priolo did a fantastic job. With over 140 cars on display and over 300 participants, we had an outstanding event. Approximately 30 Members and their families came out to support the Lodge and of course Pete. Thank you to our door prize donors: JB’s Barbeque, Gaetano Pizza & Café, Filia’s Restaurant & Bar, 7 Stars Family Restaurant, Brandy Standard Chevy Cadillac, Crème de la Crème Bakery, Kelly’s Corner, Applebee’s, Friendly’s, Sedgewood Golf Club, C Art, and our own BPOE 2101. Thank you to the Tony T band for performing during our show.
And if the membership gets this in time Do Not Forget September 1st, Labor Day Picnic.
The pool will be closing for the season after the Labor Weekend. We owe Bobby Downes a big Thank You for all his great work and effort he put in at the Pool. Your Exalted Ruler can not Thank You enough.

Remember September’s meetings are on the 9th and the 23rd. Indoctrination will be held on the September 17, 2008.
This year I am having a very hard time deciding who I should pick for ELK of the Year. My problem is that I have at least 15 ELKS of the past who never received it and current ELKS who are really showing us what the ELKS are all about.
